Hello there! I have been working in the fitness industry for over five years and for the last 2.5 as a NASM certified personal trainer, NCSF Strength Coach, PRO/POSTnatal fitness specialist and a self proclaimed badass.
My confidence, self assuredness and worth have been rebuilt in my fitness journey. My journey started at a pretty young age of ten years old when I learned that not only was my body different than other girls my age but that it was some how a weakness. At that age I wasn't even aware that my body looked different or that my body was something people categorized. The comments all around me put me in an unhealthy spiral. I would lose weight and gain weight over and over again from this unhealthy relationship to my body, to food, and to movement.
I swiftly changed course in my early adult life, if I couldn't be "skinny, thin and small" I was going to the strongest person! I had no idea what I was doing lifting heavy and quickly injured my body. After this mess of ego driven exercise I found myself stationary and afraid. I felt absolutely defeated which is hard for me to admit. I walked around with false confidence and never wanted my humanity to be seen.
When I graduated from college I started a customer service job at a gym in Chicago and my entire outlook on fitness changed. I was finally gaining knowledge, education, inspiration, support and confidence from the people around me. I learned that exercise is not supposed to be damaging, dreadful or exclusive. For me exercise is the best way to celebrate life, to release self doubt and gain confidence by connecting back to my beautiful and powerful body.
My approach to fitness is a connection to intention and to joyfully move your body! If you don't like doing it, you won't continue it. My intention based exercise programs are supported with weekly mantras and scheduled active rest days for consistency. My mission is to empower individuals to connect with their present day bodies and find their power through movement!
Movement Magic is an intentions based fitness community with 1 on 1 personal training (both virtual and in person), individually curated exercise programs, 4 week exercise Ebooks and support for consistency and longevity. I am dedicated to assisting people find their personal power through movement and to ignite or reignite their fire for life!
I was driven to build this sanctuary based upon my personal experience in the fitness industry for the past 5 years. Movement Magic is 100% committed to welcoming and encouraging EVERY BODY, no matter your experience, size, shape or budget. Movement Magic is a body positive and all inclusive community working to install gratitude and empowerment in our present physical form!
